Hello, ladies! Hope the first month of 2009 went well. It's been a month since I've posted, so I had updates to share: I just started taking a 14-week "Children's Book Illustration" class at an art university, went to a local SCBWI meeting, and am starting a face-to-face illo critique group (first meeting to begin in February).
Anyone else have news?

Well, I'm deciding to post my failures too. Even with everyone excitingly saying "Yeah, I'd love to meet up regularly!" no one showed at the first face-to-face crit. Boo! My husband says not to give up and not to take it personally. I guess I'll advertise more and try again at the end of March.
Yeah, i hear you...since i'm just starting out too i've gotten a lot of unreturned emails and calls and no jobs yet! But your husband is right...just keep on doing what you do and eventually it will come together. At least that is what I tell myself! Haha.
